UA: Dalton down to UNC, VT

Rivals100 defensive end Jalen Dalton knows how many NFL caliber defensive ends have played in the Under Armour All-America Game. The honor is not lost on the Clemmons (N.C.) West Forsyth star.

"I'm just truly blessed to be considered one of the top guys in America," said the 6-foot-6, 220-pound Dalton. "I'm looking forward to going against some of the guys I'll be with in college. I'm looking forward to playing with Shy Tuttle on the defensive line. He's one of my good friends. I haven't looked at who the offensive linemen are going to be."
Dalton has kept the inner workings of his recruitment close to the vest but recently revealed that North Carolina and Virginia Tech are the final two schools he is considering.
"I still communicate with North Carolina a lot," he said. "I was on my way to their game against Georgia Tech but I had some car trouble. I was mad that I missed that."
Virginia Tech's game against Miami may not have turned out the way the Hokies would have liked but, with Dalton on the sideline, the atmosphere was top-notch. That certainly caught Dalton's eye and he will be in Blacksburg again this weekend for his official visit.
"I wanted to see the night game and what the environment was going to be," Dalton said. "I was highly surprised. I'm looking forward to this weekend to see how it is. I think I'll see more of the educational stuff and I'm just going to take it all in."
Visiting two weeks in a row has people thinking a commitment could be immanent but Dalton isn't going to rush his decision.
"I'm just going to wait until after my official visit to sit down with my family and I'll decide from there," he said.
Dalton has helped West Forsyth to a 9-1 record so far this season.
