UA All-America Game: Cox believes Georgia can win one more

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. Brenton Cox is ready to compete in a big game of his own Thursday when he plays in the Under Armour All-America game. After that, the Georgia signee is set to head back home and watch the Bulldogs play against Alabama for the National Championship.

The No. 2 defensive end in the country was not surprised by the outcome in the Rose Bowl Monday night.

"When the game [against Oklahoma] first started, it was crazy," said Cox. "I knew Georgia was going to win the whole time, but they had to work hard to take the lead.

"I was at the go-cart place, so I watched it there. They tried to kick us out because we were there so long. I had to see how that game ended. We played well towards the end and that is how we need to play all game against Alabama."

Cox said Lorenzo Carter was a key player the win over the Sooners. Carter's blocked field goal will be remembered by Georgia fans for a very long time.

What is the key for Georgia to win one more and end the season as the national champs?

"We just cannot start slow against Alabama," said Cox. "I think we will come out hard. Alabama still has something to prove. People are talking about Alabama is not Alabama anymore, so they will come out ready to play.

"I think we will be ready, come out and play hard and I think we beat Alabama."

It is funny how this played out. In the battle for Cox, it came down to Alabama and Georgia, so he knows a lot about each program. He went with Georgia because of where he feels the program is headed.

"I saw the big picture when I signed with Georgia. I wasn't even thinking about this season, but I was looking at the next two, three or four years. Georgia is going to be really good — championship good.

"I think we can win back-to-back championships when I get to Georgia."

Cox went on to give his prediction on Monday's game against the Tide and he said Georgia wins 22-14.
