U-M likes Watson

Expect to see the recruitment of Brandon Watson to take off soon. The defensive back out of Elkton (Md.) Eastern Christian Academy recently camped at Michigan and came away with some good news.
"We registered at the Michigan camp a little late so we just hopped into drills," said the 5-foot-11, 185-pound Watson. "The coach said I did the drills pretty well and he wanted to keep looking at me. When we finished the drill we did one on ones and seven on seven then we went to lunch.
"At lunch the coaches put me and (my teammate) Dele' Harding in a separate room with some other players from the camp and some committed players," he said. "I guess the coaches wanted to see how we all got along. I talked to one of the committed wide receivers a little bit but we didn't have a lot of time. I only got to talk to the coaches a little bit during lunch.

"After lunch we went out and did drills, one-on-ones and seven on seven again," Watson said. "After my last rep one of the coaches came up to me and told me that I have an offer to play at Michigan."
Just a few days before Watson was in Ann Arbor, he and a few teammates went to Knoxville to check out Tennessee but it seemed like he liked a few things better in Michigan.
"We went to see the stadium and the locker room while we were at Michigan," he said. "I really liked it. I liked Michigan's stadium better than Tennessee's because the walls are lower. When you do something big the fans are right there."
Watson knows about Michigan's football team but still needs to do some more investigating to see if Ann Arbor is the place for him.
"I know about their football and everything but I have to research their academics," said Watson. "I know they're academics are highly ranked but I still need to look at it. They were coaches were straight up with me. If I did something wrong during one-on-ones they let me know. They didn't really sugar coat anything."
Watson said he and some teammates might go out to USC on Monday.
