Tyler is preparing to make a decision
Defensive end Dontez Tyler out of Ahoskie (N.C.) Hertford County is focusing in on a decision. The 6-foot-4, 220-pounder plans to make his selection soon.
"I'm looking to decide in the next few weeks before practice starts up," he said. "I just went to camps at NC State, Duke and Old Dominion.

"Duke said they are going to offer as did State."
One school appears to be sticking out a bit.
"Maryland's got my most interest at the moment," he said. "They seem really interested in me and really want me to come there. I feel really comfortable there and I feel like I'm at home when I've been there."
Tyler is considering offers from Arkansas, East Carolina and Virginia as well.
As a decision is coming, Tyler is focusing on his upcoming season.
"I want to get defensive player of the year," he said. "I expect to play even better, I've gotten stronger and a little bit quicker."
