Tye picks up huge offer

Salisbury, Connecticut tight end Will Tye has been considered a sleeper prospect for a while, because those who have seen him rave about his talent, but his offer list isn't as long as you might think.
All of that might be about to change. In fact, there are signs that it's happening already.

The 6-foot-3, 230-pound prospect recently picked up an offer from Florida State, and that should vault him squarely into the national spotlight.
"Yeah, I think it was last Thursday when they called and told me," Tye explained. "It was coach (James) Coley that let me know. It kind of surprised me, but I knew they wanted to get in touch with me. I was kind of surprised they offered."
Prior to that Tye had received offers from Temple, Villanova and Wyoming, and he said he has been receiving some interest from LSU in recent weeks.
Did he think about committing upon hearing the good news from the Seminoles?
"I'm gonna let it play out for a while," he explained. "I'm gonna try to get (a visit) set up sometime, but I don't know when yet. I want to try to visit LSU sometime, too."
Though Salisbury is 0-2 on the year it's difficult to place blame in Tye's corner. The jumbo athlete that is being recruited as a tight end or a big receiver has caught 15 passes for about 250 yards and two touchdowns in those losses.
Tye is ranked the No. 8 overall prospect in the state of Connecticut.
