Xavier McGuire, who is from Dallas Carter High School in Texas, had no idea what his statistics were for the year, but, "I'm satisfied with my play so far and I'm sure that my stats are pretty good at this point."
"I don't read the papers, because I was mad at them for not having us ranked at the beginning of the year," McGuire said. "I just go out there and play without worrying about the numbers. That's what y'all are for."
The 6-foot-5, 205 pound receiver has narrowed his field of choices to six colleges with three of them having offered him. "I have offers from Georgia Tech, Virginia and Wyoming," he said. And he also gets frequent contact from Alabama, Tennessee and Florida. He still has no visits set, but Florida, Georgia Tech and Virginia are pending dates.
Most impressive coach who is recruiting him: "Coach Egan from Alabama is. He has a unique style of recruiting that I really like and we talk about my games and how I'd fit in at Alabama."
