Two-way standout up to three offers

Two-way standout and two sport star Adam Long (6-0, 165, 4.45) from Playa del Rey (Calif.) Saint Bernard has notched three football offers to his credit. Two of them are Pac 10 teams.
The two Pac 10 offers are Cal and Washington while San Jose State has also offered Long a scholarship.

Cal and Washington like Long for his abilities as a defensive back and San Jose State offered him as a running back. Oregon, Oregon State and Washington State are also recruiting two-way athlete from Saint Bernard.
Long was a first-team all-league selection as a running back his junior season after rushing for 524 yards and seven touchdowns.
From his cornerback position Long racked up 38 tackles. The opposition rarely threw to Long's man so he didn't have a lot of interception opportunities.
As track performer, Long placed third in the state meet in the 200-meter with a time of 21.2
"Adam has speed and can't coach speed," Saint Bernard coach Greg Dixon said. "That is the one thing that puts him over the others at his position. He has that component.
"Adam is a great athlete, but because he's such a great track performer he doesn't get the reps in spring," Dixon said. "He only gets to work on his football skills during the summer and during the football season so he's a little bit behind in his develop, but he's such a good athlete, he's doing a great job catching up to where everybody else is..
"Adam is a raw player who doesn't get to work on his footwork because of the lack of reps, but he's now getting to where he needs to be," Dixon said. "There is no doubt in my mind that Adam's best days as a football player are definitely ahead of him.
Long and his Saint Bernard teammates will get a severe test in their opener against Culver City, Calif., and their high-octane offense led by quarterback Darius Banks and two-way standout and UCLA commit Antwon Moutra.
