Two-way standout lands offer

One of the San Fernando Valley's most consistent programs developing D-I players over the last 15 years has been Sherman Oaks (Calif.) Notre Dame. Once again Notre dame has players who will sign a D-I letter-of-intent papers in February. One of them is two-way standout Daniel Munyer (6-3, 270, 4.9).
One things that D-I schools can be certain about with a player like Munyer is he will be well schooled in fundamental football.

Munyer is outstanding in the weight room as his current bench is 285, he squats 500 and has an impressive power clean of 280. His 33-inch vertical is also exceptional for a guy his size.
As a junior, Munyer earned all-league and all-state for his performance. He is also an excellent student and made the all-academic team with his 3.2 GPA in a very academically challenging school and a 1405 SAT.
On the recruiting trail, Munyer has received his first offer from UNLV. He is getting recruiting attention from Arizona, UCLA, Washington, Washington State, Colorado and Iowa State.
UNLV offered Munyer for his skills as an offensive lineman. He is also getting looks by other schools for his skills as a defensive lineman.
"It was good getting an offer from UNLV," Munyer said. "It was exciting and my parents were very happy for me."
"I like (UNLV offensive line/tight ends) Coach Gary Bernardi who is recruiting me," Munyer said. "(UNLV head coach) Mike Sanford is supposed to call me in a couple of days."
"Iowa State is showing a lot of interest in me and after they get back from the road," Munyer said. "The staff is going to talk about me and it sounds like there is a high possibility that I will get an offer from them."
"I'm going to UCLA's camp on June 6th," Munyer said. "I hope to go out there and compete. I hope they will have some one-on-ones so I can show them how athletic I am. I will compete on both sides of the ball."
"Washington is supposed to be back out here this week and Colorado will be in town next week," Munyer said. "I may attend Colorado's offensive line/defensive line camp on June 13th."
"One June 12th, I will be camping with UNLV."
What is Munyer looking for in a college?
"Academics is my priority right now," Munyer said. "Then I will look at how the school's football program is and their tradition. Another consideration will be how I feel about the campus atmosphere."
