Two-way standout has versatility

Two-way standout Bruce Robinson (6-0, 180, 4.5) from Manhattan Beach (Calif.) Mira Costa has the versatility that D-I schools look for. He plays wide receiver on offense and hybrid defensive back/linebacker that some would rover.
Robinson is being looked at for his skills on both sides of the ball. Some schools like him as a wide receiver while others like him as a defensive player.

If he plays defense he probably projects as a safety or cornerback.
Robinson prefers playing wide receiver on the collegiate level, but ever the team player, he will play wherever the coach thinks he can help the team best.
"Though I prefer wide receiver, it doesn't matter where I play," Robinson said. "As a wide receiver I like making big catches and big plays. On defense I like to mix it up and hit."
What is Robinson looking for in a school?
"Basically I'm looking for a school with excellent academics and a good football program," Robinson said. "I just want to get a good education and play football."
Oregon, San Diego State, UNLV, Nevada and San Jose State are showing Robinson the most recruiting interest.
Robinson was selected first-team all-league and second-team all-area as a junior after racking up 105 tackles, 69 of them solo, nine sacks and a head-knocking six forced fumbles.
As a wide receiver, Robinson accounted for 44 receptions for 614 yards and four touchdowns.
In an earlier interview with opposing coach Craig Armstrong from Harbor City (Calif.) Narbonne, he this to say about Robinson, "You won't see him guarding a receiver picking off or batting down passes much because of his Rover position. But you will see a fierce hitter in run support. He isn't really used as a pass coverage guy, he is used to put heat on a passer."
"Bruce can really run, so it shouldn't be so difficult for him to make the transition to a defensive back position."
