Two-way standout getting notice

Gardena (Calif.) Serra has done a very good job over the past few sending their top players to the D-I. Pac10Recruiting has already profiled Serra stars Devin Stearns and Alex Blagojevich.
Another player to watch from Serra high school is wide receiver/cornerback William Boyd. Boyd stands 5-foot-9, weighs 165 pounds and runs the 40-yard dash in 4.48.

Boyd made plays in number of different ways for Serra. Playing slot back, Boyd racked up 350 yards rushing. He also caught 12 passes for approximately 250 yards. Boyd did a nice job returning kicks and averaged 24 yards per kick.
A testimony to Boyd’s quickness was when he flat-out fell down while running the 40-yard dash at the Nike camp held at USC and still he ran a 4.8.
“If William had size, he would be a running back,” Serra head coach Scott Altenberg said. “He is lightning quick. William can stop on a dime and then blow right by you.”
Boyd is a great cover corner on defense and he could end up playing that position on the collegiate level.
Boyd reminds many of former Long Beach (Calif.) Poly star and now Oregon Duck Sammy Parker.
ASU, Washington, Wisconsin, Fresno State and UNLV are sampling of school that have come this May inquiring about Boyd.
Pac10Recruiting will keep you informed on Boyd and all the other Serra stars this recruiting season.
Stay tuned…
