Two visits for top junior LB

Junior linebacker Melvin Keihn of Baltimore (Md.) Gilman School is quickly approaching ten offers, and has many other top programs showing serious interest. Keihn has also taken two unofficial visits this fall.
"Recruiting is going well so far," said Keihn. "I'm taking each day at a time and letting the recruiting part handle itself."

That philosophy has resulted in nine early offers, including from Virginia Tech, West Virginia, Virginia, Maryland, Rutgers, North Carolina and Boston College.
Keihn has been busy this fall, but did find the time to attend games at both West Virginia and Maryland.
"They went well and I liked what I saw at both schools," said Keihn, who is 6-foot-3 and 215 pounds. "The way they play is pretty interesting. The defenses play hard and together, and the crowds are all about football and supporting the team."
Keihn does not have any other visits planned at this time and does not claim any early favorites. However, he did mention that several other schools may be close to joining his offer total.
"Yes, Notre Dame, Penn State, Florida, Michigan State, Michigan and Pittsburgh," said Keihn.
With the recruiting process taking more of a backseat right now, Keihn has focused his attention on his junior season.
"The season is going well. We're just fighting for another championship season," said Keihn, who discussed his improved play on the field. "My pass rushing got better and I'm stronger on the field. I know what I'm doing even more as I play."
