Two visits for Echols

Three-star athlete Zion Echols had been committed to Cal for months but he recently pulled back off that pledge and reopened his recruitment. That doesn't mean the Golden Bears are out, though, as the Covina (Calif.) Charter Oak standout plans to visit Berkeley again in the coming weeks.

WHAT'S NEXT?: Echols is planning two trips in January which should determine his recruitment. The three-star speedster is expected to visit Washington State the weekend of Jan. 15 and then Cal the following weekend for his final trip. After seeing those two campuses, Echols should be ready to make his final choice.
RIVALS' REACTION: If Echols really enjoys his visit to Pullman there is no question that Washington State could land his commitment because he could fit in really well in the Cougars' offense. But he's taking his last trip to Cal and last trips always are important because it's the final chance for coaches to sway a player one way or another. It's basically down to two schools and each has a real possibility of landing his pledge.
