Two visits are set for fast-rising Texas QB

One of the emerging quarterbacks in the Lone Star State is 6-foot-4, 195-pound Blake Szymanski of Wichita Falls (Texas) Rider. The two-star selection racked up quite a bit of yards and touchdowns this season, leading his team to the state semifinals. He’s now heading to official visits in January.
“I’ve set up for Baylor on January 14,” Szymanski said. “I’ve also almost got one ready to go to Tulsa on January 7. Texas Tech is also coming by the house on Monday for an in-home visit. I think they’re going to offer me a scholarship.”

So what has made Szymanski one of the hottest targets in Texas?
“I think I worked hard and improved my decision making,” Szymanski said. “I also matured as the year went on. We had a different person calling the plays this season. Our head coach called all the plays, and that really gave me a shot to become more of a leader with a more aggressive offense.”
