Two trips for Mixon

Joe Mixon has set his first two official visits, further giving an insight into where his recruitment might be headed, and they're both big trips.
The five-star running back from Oakley (Calif.) Freedom is set to visit Texas A&M for its game against Alabama in September and then he heads to Oklahoma for the TCU matchup in early October.

Mixon, who shined this summer at the Rivals100 Five-Star Challenge in Chicago, said he hasn't set up his three final visits yet but is working on it.
"I know I could come in and have a chance to start as a true freshman," Mixon said of Texas A&M. "Playing with Johnny (Manziel) would be a good fit and when he leaves it will be Kyle Allen so it would still work. I can't wait to visit."
The five-star will be in Norman, Okla., a few weeks later and that is another crucial visit. Mixon said he's still wide open in his recruitment but the Sooners have always been mentioned as one of the frontrunners since they started showing interest.
"My coach set it up because our bye week for football is when I'm going out there," Mixon said.
"The tradition stands out most. Their coaching staff is a really good coaching staff and I know they can get me to the next level, that's why they're still in the mix. At one point, they were recruiting me really hard but at the same time they give me my space so I like that."
Mixon, rated as the fourth-best running back in the 2014 class by Rivals.com, said he's trying to convince Fresno (Calif.) Central East athlete Michiah Quick to join him on his Oklahoma visit. Nothing has been finalized yet.
