Two Tigers are targeting Robinson

Quandarrius Robinson is next in line to be that guy at Birmingham (Ala.) Jackson-Olin.

Linebacker Tadarian Moultry signed with Auburn in 2017 and defensive tackle Coynis Miller is committed to Gus Malzahn. Each had/has four star next to their names. Each had national-type of offers on their profiles. Each were stars on the high school level.

Robinson is on that same track.

The 6-foot-4, 200 pound sophomore was in Baton Rouge (La.) for the first time with the Tigers hosted Arkansas a couple of weeks ago. Once LSU took care of the Hogs, Robinson was about to leave, but before he did, he got some unexpected news.

"After the game we were all sitting in the recruiting room and I went to say goodbye to coach [Tommy] Robinson and he told me to hang on and not to leave yet," said Robinson. "He wanted me to speak to other coaches first.

"The coaches were talking to me about LSU, how they want me to come back and before leaving, coach Robinson came back to me telling me that I had been offered by LSU."

That news could made the right back to Birmingham a great one.

"I couldn't stop smiling. I think I smiled the entire way back home once I got that offer. To get the offer from LSU means a lot. I have always liked the purple and gold uniforms since I was a kid, so I have known about them for a while.

"Now, since I have seen them play and visited there, I like them even more. I like their defensive strategy, I love how the crowd amplifies and I just love the atmosphere.

"I loved it. It was my first time there. The students are great and it is a school I know I will visit again."

The offer from LSU was the second one for Robinson. He was offered by another Tigers in July after a camp performance.

Auburn was first to pull the trigger and he is very familiar with the in-state school.

"I have visited Auburn four or five times now," said Robinson. "The fans make me feel at home already when I visit there. Everyone is always talking to me and the people overall there are great.

"I like the atmosphere there too and the coaches are cool guys. They were first to offer me, so that is pretty big to me too."

Robinson still has 2.5 years of high school left so he is not thinking too far ahead when it comes to his recruitment, but when asked about Auburn potentially having two of his former teammates there by the time he makes his decision, he said it could help them.

The Robinson house is divided. On the mother's side, it is all Alabama. On the step-father's side, it is Auburn. All are die-hard fans too said Robinson.

He said that growing up, he never chose a favorite and it is too early for him to have one as a recruit.

"I want to get recruited by every SEC school," said Robinson. "Who wouldn't? I am happy to have both offers and I want to keep visiting Auburn and LSU.

"I am just excited right now. I never dreamed of this happening to me and it is happening, so I want to take advantage of it."
