Two teams emerge for Edwards

Recently thought to be somewhat open and considering quite a few schools, defensive end Ray Edwards seems to have narrowed things down. He's back from a trip to Tennessee and is apparently down to two schools.
"My favorites are Purdue and Tennessee," said the 6-foot-6, 235 pound Edwards. "They've really come across as the places I've felt most comfortable and where I felt I fit in best."

Edwards was amazing this year for Cincinnati (Ohio) Woodward, where he was one of the best defensive ends in the area. He made 105 tackles, had 11 sacks, batted down five passes, and forced six fumbles.
"Tennessee is a really nice school," said Edwards. "They showed me around and I had a really nice time. I got to see all the academic places and the stadium. Man, that place is huge."
Woodward went 9-1 this season and Edwards was one of the biggest reasons for their success. Are there any people that have been influential in the recruitment of Edwards thus far?
"I really like Coach Barry at Tennessee. We get along really well. With Purdue I probably talk to Coach Emanuel the most. I talk to him about a lot of stuff, and we're pretty tight."
What does Edwards consider to be his biggest strengths as a defensive end?
"I think my combination of speed and strength is really good," he said. "I run the 40-yard dash in 4.6 seconds and I bench around 320 or 325 pounds. I think I use good technique for someone at my level too."
So when will he decide?
"I don't know exactly when I'm going to decide, but right now it looks like it might be around the middle of January. I haven't really eliminated Ohio State or Boston College just yet, but Tennessee and Purdue stand out. If I need a fifth trip, I'm still thinking about Wake Forest and South Carolina."
