"Gerall is eighth in his class academically and is putting most of his emphasis on academics," his mother, Mrs. Golightly, said.
She felt that her son was not given the proper attention by his former high school coach.

"The high school coach got fired, because a bunch of the parents got together and complained about his favoritism in the recruiting promotion of the players at Lancaster."
The 6-foot-3, 285 pound offensive guard from Lancaster, Texas will take a visit to Texas-El Paso on Jan. 25.
"That's the only one that we have definitely set up at this time," Golightly said.
Gerrell Golightly hopes to set a visit with Duke and maybe Navy.
UTEP is the favorite at this time. "I like the coach and we get along real good."
"I'll make my decision after my visits and maybe even after the signing day. Being committed on signing day is not a real big thing with me."
He is still open to Division 1AA and Division Two possibilities.
Gerall is scheduled to play in the Coca-Cola All-Star Game next week.
