Two-star makes most of all-star appearance

MOBILE, Ala. – The week leading up to the Alabama-Mississippi All-Star Classic can mean a lot of things to a lot of people. For those playing in the game, it can mean the opportunity to gauge themselves against top competition, a chance to represent their state or a chance to get noticed by colleges. Willie Bohannon hopes to make the most of his opportunities this week.

The defensive end out of Mobile (Ala.) Blount has been one of the most impressive players on a team of superstars this week and has enjoyed his experience in his hometown. However, Bohannon hopes that this experience will lead to more than just a good time.

"Everything's going good," Bohannon said. "Practice is going good. The coaches are cool. The players are cool. It's nice to meet new people and there are a lot of prospects out here. It's an experience. I'm hoping to get some more offers from it. I plan to get some more offers after this and hopefully I can show out."

Bohannon has been showing out. He has shown a good physical nature at the line of scrimmage and has shown some athleticism in space. Playing alongside highly touted defensive prospects such as William Green and Jerrell Harris, Bohannon has looked right at home. But he is excited for more than just personal reasons.

"It's always good to represent your school and represent your state all along. It's exciting, everything is exciting about this game because it's got a lot of exposure and a lot of hyping of the game."

Currently, Bohannon has a short list of offers but should he continue to play at a high level he may see the list grow in the coming weeks.

"Right now I've got offers from Kentucky, Alabama and Louisiana-Lafayette," he said. "I'm also hearing from Florida and Louisville. I haven't set up any official visits yet. I think I'm going to visit Alabama in January. I haven't really talked to them about it but I plan to go there in January."

Bohannon is versatile enough to play both defensive end and outside linebacker and is being talked about as playing either position in college. Alabama has been talking to him about playing it's "Jack" hybrid position.
