Two-star DT waiting for first offer

Red Bank, N.J. defensive tackle Darryll Jackson has not received his first offer of the season, but the 6-foot-1, 312-pounder dos have interest from a handful of Division I programs. Who is contacting the New Jersey tackle?
"I get a lot of mail from Wake Forest, Michigan and Rutgers among others," he said. "I don't really have any favorites because I haven't made up my mind if I want to stay in or go out of state."

With the two-star prospect being so wide open, what is he looking for out of a school?
"You know of course I want a good football program, but I also want a diverse group of people and a high rate of graduation amongst the athletes," he said. "Beyond that, it comes down to pretty much the whole feel and whether I'm comfortable in the atmosphere and like the school."
Despite not having favorites, Jackson went on to talk about two of the schools that are recruiting him hardest.
"I like Michigan because it's a great program and a great school," he said. "I like Rutgers mostly because it's in-state. I also know that a couple of guys from my high school went there after last season, so I like that they have ties to my school."
The No. 45 player in New Jersey isn't sure if he'll be able to witness any games first-hand this season.
"I'm so busy with practice and school and everything I don't know if I'll have time," he said. "I think I'll definitely take officials to Rutgers and Michigan because those are the schools with the most interest in me and they have what I'm looking for, but I'm still waiting to get that scholarship."
This season Red Bank is off to a 0-3 start.
"We lost a lot of key players from graduation last year and it's tough," he said. "This season I'm doing pretty well. I don't have any sacks, but I probably have somewhere around 15 to 20 tackles. I can tell I get off the ball a lot faster now and make more things happen than last year."
