Two-Sport Star Sets Visit

Nate Salley wants to play both football and basketball in college. That’s why he’s only looking at schools with top-notch programs in both sports.
“I’m going to visit Michigan State on November 2nd for the Michigan game,” said the 6-foot-4, 185-pound safety who also plays guard on the hardcourt. “I’ll also visit North Carolina and Miami. After that I’m not sure.”

Michigan State has already told Salley that he can play both while North Carolina and Miami have hinted at it. He’s also interested in NC State, Iowa, Tennessee and a few others.
“Most of the schools have said I could play both but not all of them are guaranteeing it,” he said. “That will be a major factor for me.”
Salley has led his Ft. Lauderdale (Fla.) St. Thomas Aquinas team to a 6-0 record with 40 tackles. He’s shuffled between cornerback and safety for much of the year. Salley expects to decide sometime in January.
