Now that his teammate Derrick McCoy has ended his recruitment early, athlete Peter Rose out of Amherst, Va. is receiving the focus of interest from colleges. The 6-foot-1, 185-pounder has announced two schools that are standing out for his services.
"My favorite school is Virginia Tech, but I also like Nebraska," he said. "I like Nebraska because of Eric Crouch. I like the way he ran the option offense.
"As for Virginia Tech, it's a big program and they win. They also have ties to Amherst, that's a real big factor. I've met coach Stinespring and Beamer before on visits and they just seem like awesome coaches that you'd like to play for."
Virginia Tech and Nebraska are leading, but plenty of other schools are checking out the versatile Virginia prospect.
"I'm getting interest from Connecticut, Navy, Marshall, Virginia, Northwestern, James Madison and more," he said. "First off, I'm looking for a college that can push me to keep my grades up. That's important and I want a good academics school.
"I also want a coaching staff and players that want to win. Location doesn't really matter to me, of course being closer to home is nice it's not that big of a deal though I can play anywhere."
Rose has at least one camp planned this summer to Virginia Tech.
