The Tigers, led by Rivals.com Top 25 recruiter Billy Napier, have been in pursuit for some time. He plans to take an unofficial visit to Clemson with his coach later this month.
"Coach Napier just tells me that they want me to come up there and play wide receiver," Dennard said. "They are the only school that is recruiting me to play that position. That want to use me and put the ball in my hands a lot."
Dennard does have a preference as to what position he will play in college.
"I want to play wide receiver in college," he said. "But really, I will play wherever they put me."
Dennard also named two leaders.
"Clemson and Alabama are my leaders right now."
Dennard talked about the Crimson Tide's recent interest.
"I don't know much about Alabama to tell you the truth," he said. "I've just seen him a couple of times on T.V."
A versatile athlete who has been timed as fast as 10.8 seconds in the 100-meter dash, Dennard caught 45 passes for 840 yards and 12 touchdowns (along with 240 rushing yards) on offense and had 53 tackles and six interceptions on defense. He is rated as the nation's No. 32 cornerback prospect by Rivals.com. He also is the state of Georgia's No. 38 overall prospect.
