Two officials set for R100 OL Dickerson

Ever since he blew up at the Rivals Camp Series Presented by Under Armour in Charlotte, Rivals100 offensive lineman Landon Dickerson has been a hot commodity. The nation's top programs have come calling for the Hudson (N.C.) South Caldwell star and Dickerson is making sure to take a hard look.

"I have two official visits set. Michigan on September 12 and Auburn on November 28," said the 6-foot-5, 297-pound Dickerson. "I think Michigan is playing Oregon State and Auburn is playing Alabama in the Iron Bowl.
"I've been talking to Michigan and building a better relationship with the coaches up there," he said. "The more I talk with them, the more I become interested in Michigan. The education piece is awesome. They have a great engineering school. That's what has really caught my interest. I won't really be able to just take a day off and drive to visit them so I'd like to take an official visit up there and spend as much time as I can.
"I know they have four offensive linemen committed already and that was kind of a concern for me," he said. "When I talked to coach Drevno he said that, if they do get a fifth offensive lineman, they would always be able to make a spot for me if I wanted to go there.
"Auburn was a great visit," Dickerson said. "They had their big seven-on-seven tournament and the coaches did a great job of making me feel like I was the only one there. Throughout the day I think we sat down talked to coach Malzhan three times for about 20 or 30 minutes at a time while he was running this camp. That was a big part of it. He made me feel so individualized while there were thousands of other people there. Auburn, so far, has some of the best facilities I've seen. Their dorm rooms, campus, weight room and everything. The education piece is a huge part for me. They have a great engineering school."
From early on in his recruitment, Tennessee and Virginia Tech have battled for the top spot in Dickerson's recruitment.
"I haven't really set any more visits to Tennessee or Virginia Tech," he said. "I'd like to get up some time in July to Virginia Tech and see their new indoor facility. We might head back up to Tennessee. I'd say coach Searls at Virginia Tech and I are closest. It's pretty close between him and coach Mahoney at Tennessee.
Two other schools are very much in play for Dickerson.
"I have a Florida State visit set up for July 15," said Dickerson. "This is probably going to pay a major part in my decision to take an official visit there or not. Depending on how this visit goes, and I expect it to go well because coach Trickett and I get along phenomenally, it will determine if I use an official visit on them.
"South Carolina is still in the mix," he said. "They're still going to be in my top five I think. I'll probably try to make it down there for a game. Coach Elliott is a great coach and we get along really well. It's just going to be about building a better relationship and getting back down there to visit."
Dickerson participated in the Rivals100 Five-star Challenge Presented by Under Armour in Baltimore in June.
