The very versatile tight end/wide receiver prospect Brendan Mitchell of Hudson (Ohio) is starting to collect the offers and interest after a summer full of camp trips and visits.
Joining the Glenville group on the bus tour to many different college campuses, the 6-foot-3, 210-pound offensive player has seen plenty of the schools in the region and is starting to form a top list of schools while holding two offers from Indiana and Bowling Green.
"It's been a really good summer," Mitchell said. "It's my senior season so I want to go out with a bang. Coach (Ted) Ginn's bus tour was great seeing places like Illinois, Iowa, Notre Dame, Ball State, Bowling Green, Ohio State, and Cincinnati."
Though his offer total is sticking at two, Mitchell is listing several other schools that appear very interested.
"Northwestern has been looking at me hard along with Iowa," Mitchell said. "They have their eye on me. Those two schools are in my top eight or so with Indiana, Purdue, Ohio State, Bowling Green, Miami of Ohio, and Wisconsin."
"Those schools just appeal to me and they have all done very well in the past few years. Bowling Green has a great quarterback and Ohio State is just a given being a great program."
Though Mitchell is fielding tons of interest and has had the opportunity to see numerous schools, he is not going to rush the process. He is not setting his official visit either.
Basically, there is no rush.
"When it feels right, I'll know," Mitchell said about a decision timeframe. "I'm in no hurry to do anything right now. I'm a three-sport captain for football, basketball, and track so I want to focus on this stuff this season."
