Two offers in for PAs Fenton

Erie (Pa.) McDowell linebacker A.J. Fenton has accumulated two offers already. The latest for the 6-foot-2, 215-pounder came over the weekend on an unofficial visit.
"I've got one offer from Syracuse two weeks ago and then I just got another one this weekend from Pittsburgh," he said. "Before I left the coaches told me I had an offer.

"I liked Pittsburgh a lot. My brother Eric goes there and they showed us all the facilities. I haven't been to Syracuse, so I don't know as much about them."
Obviously Fenton has ties to Pittsburgh, how big of a factor is that in his possible decision?
"It's not particularly huge, but it's nice because I'm more familiar with the campus and it's good to have family ties around there. I can say it definitely plays a part."
Besides the two offers, the Keystone State prospect is hearing from West Virginia, Miami (Ohio), Akron, Penn State, Boston College, Vanderbilt and Maryland.
Currently Fenton claims no favorites, but did mention what he's looking for in a school.
"Basically I just want to feel comfortable where I go," he said. "I want good academics and someplace that makes me feel at home. Obviously I want a good football program too."
This spring Fenton plans to head to the Nike Combine in Pittsburgh as well as the Akron seven-on-seven.
Last season Fenton helped McDowell to a 6-5 season.
"We lost in the district championship," he said. "I only played in seven games because I pulled my hamstring, but I had 144 carries for 1,079-yards and 13 touchdowns. I only played one game on defense where I got seven tackles and one sack.
"I think I have a good combination of size, speed and power when I run. I do think I need to improve on my quickness and lateral movement a bit."
