"It was a good visit," he said. But when asked if anything stood out from the visit, he said. "Not that I can think of."
During the offseason, Royster is keeping busy with lacrosse.
"I'm playing lacrosse right now," he said. "It keeps me in shape and spends some time, it's going good though."
As far as recruiting Royster holds four offers from Virginia Tech, Virginia, Maryland and Penn State. So do any of these schools stand out?
"I don't know much about the schools," Royster said. "But they all have football programs that stand out."
Royster has also gotten letters from Oklahoma, Florida, Florida State, Miami and Nebraska among others, but have any of the letters peaked his interest?
"Tennessee has shown interest," he said. "So has Texas and both of those I'm interested in."
As for whether he favors any schools he confirms he's still wide open.
One question on the mind of many is if he'll follow his brother Brandon to Stanford?
"Stanford hasn't been showing me that much interest yet," he said. "So I really haven't thought about it."
This past season Royster ran for 2,200 yards and 29 touchdowns as he was named first team all-state. He also posted a career high of 312 yards rushing in a win late in the season against Hayfield. Over his two and a half year career at Westfield, he's amassed 4,220 yards and 54 touchdowns.
The only camp currently scheduled for this spring is the Nike Camp at Virginia Tech. As for where he'll go this summer, he hasn't thought about it yet.
