Two new offers for Georgia DL

Defensive lineman Izaan Cross out of Flowery Branch (Ga.) is a versatile big man that could play a number of positions on the next level. Defensive end, defensive tackle, and tight end are possibilities, and schools are recognizing his ability. Two new offers came in and he is now up to seven scholarship offers.
"West Virginia offered me late last week and Maryland offered me on Monday," said Cross.

"I had talked to West Virginia before and they had been recruiting me, but the Maryland offer was a complete surprise. They had never sent me a letter, I had never talked to them, and I did not expect that offer."
"They saw my film before they came by my school to tell Coach [Greg] Shaw that they wanted to offer. They told him that was all they needed to see."
These two offers are on the heels of a Wake Forest off as well, so the 6-foot-4, 245-pound athlete has some momentum going in recruiting. He thinks that momentum will continue this spring.
"We start spring practice today (May 6) and I think I will get some more offers. Florida, Tennessee, N.C. State, and Mississippi State are schools I think are close to offering me. All of those schools are coming by and I think all will offer me."
With the attention picking up, Cross is staying calm, and not jumping on these offers.
"I am still staying open right now," he said, "I want to wait for some more offers to come in this spring before I narrow it down to around five. I am just being patient."
Now is the time Cross can show what he can after an off-season of hard work. He is ready to prove he is worthy of the offers he is getting.
"I have worked hard and I am in good shape. I played basketball and I lifted weights, so I am ready to hit now. I think I did well at the NIKE Camp last Saturday, so now I am ready to show what I can with the pads on."
