Two more offers in for CB Givens

Indian Head (Md.) Lackey cornerback Darrell Givens is well over a dozen scholarships now. The 5-foot-11, 174-pounder added two more in the past day, both from the Big Ten.
"I got offers from Illinois and Penn State," he said. "I called Coach Locksley last night. From talking to him for 20 minutes, I can tell he's a real serious recruiter. He likes me a lot and told me the coaching staff likes me a lot.

"He talked about how they have a lot of players from the Maryland/D.C. area and it would be like home if I go there. I know a lot of those players from camps and that could affect me."
Does anything else stick out about the offer from the Illini?
"One thing about them is that I see they have a young secondary," he stated. "By the time I get there, most seniors except for Tavon Wilson will be seniors. That looks good for me."
Meanwhile, Givens went on about his other offer.
"I had heard they were going to offer and they finally sent it in," he said. "That's kind of big, a lot of kids from this area are on their team too. My teammate Malcolm Willis was offered by Penn State in February. He and I are real close and that could be an advantage for them. We've talked about playing together since we were little."
Visits are quickly approaching for Givens who plans to take a handful of unofficials.
"I'm going to Miami's spring game on March 29th," he said. "Then I think most likely I'll take a junior day to Penn State on April 5th and go to Ohio State's spring game on April 19th."
