Two more offers for Simmons

Compton (Calif.) Dominguez linebacker Maurice Simmons picked up two more offers this past week and is now up to five on the year. The talented athlete should hit double digits by the end of the month.
Simmons, 6-1, 205 pounds is a two time all-state underclass selection and one of the nation's top linebacker prospects. He picked up early offers from Nebraska, Mississippi and Oregon and landed two more this week.

"Oregon State and Colorado both offered me," Simmons said. "I also just received a 3.4 GPA for my last semester grades so my cumulative GPA is now up to a 3.0.
"A lot of schools were waiting on my grades and now that things looks good there, I think the offers will start to pour in. Right now, my top five would be USC, UCLA, Florida, Oregon and Notre Dame.
"I'm going to USC's Junior Day this Saturday and hopefully, I'll pick up an offer from them. I wasn't able to make it to UCLA's but I'm sending my film out to Coach Howard over there and I think they could offer soon as well."
Simmons attended the recent NIKE Combine in Oakland where he jumped 30 inches in the vertical and did 20 reps on the bench.
"I wasn't really happy with how I tested, I know I can do better," Simmons said. "I may try and get out to Houston in May for the final NIKE Combine to see if I can do better. I'm training like crazy still and hoping that the hard work pays off."
