Two more offers for Ga. DT

Eric McDaniel is another standout defensive tackle prospect from the Peach State. McDaniel, 6-2 and 292, is from Calhoun (Ga.) High School. Yesterday was a big day for the big man in the middle as he received scholarship offers No. 2 and No. 3.
"That's right," McDaniel said. "UAB and East Carolina both offered me. N.C. State was the first to offer me a week or so ago. I was excited and surprised. I didn't think they were recruiting me that hard. It was nice to get that one out of the way and I am looking forward to getting more and finding the right school.

"It's exciting, things are starting to happen."
McDaniel has only seen one school so far for an unofficial visit and that was to Alabama.
"I have to say that I really liked it. I had a one on one with coach (Nick) Saban. He was cool and it was very nice up there. I am waiting on an offer from them. Same with Auburn. I believe they are both close. Louisville, Purdue, and Clemson are recruiting me pretty hard as well."
So where do things stand? Does he favor the schools that have offered him or does he like the schools that are close?
"I am just open to everything. I can't speak on it because I have not been anywhere, I am hoping to go visit Clemson, Louisville, ECU, NC State, Auburn, and Alabama this summer."
McDaniel missed most of spring practice and many (college) junior days because of track. He recently played 7th in the discuss (135'). Because of track he only participated in one football practice and then played in his spring game.
"I did alright and made some tackles and some plays. I am the type of defensive tackle that takes on double teams well. I get off the ball and I can move side to side and get off those blocks. I just need to use my hands better."
