Two more offers for Florida linebacker

Just a couple of weeks ago Weston (Fla.) Cypress Bay linebacker Phil Walker picked up his first two scholarship offers in Middle Tennessee and Northern Illinois. He knew that the momentum would be picking up on his recruitment and now Walker has picked up the next two offers for his list.
"I got two more offers," Walker said on Tuesday. "I got Central Michigan and Kansas State."

Walker, who insists that he is very open to anybody that is recruiting him, says that his two newest options hold a particular interest to him.
"Central Michigan, they have a lot of players from Miami and they're always in a big-time bowl game and they win the MAC every year," he said. "Even though they're a small time program, that doesn't bother me. They have a great linebacking corps and they have a big upside.
"Kansas State, I don't really know too much about them but I know it's a big-time linebacker school and they're in the Big 12 and I know I could go to the Big 12 and make some noise playing against Texas and all those big-time programs."
With his four offers in hand, Walker spent some time in the spring going to some schools that he has a high interest in and attempting to compete to earn more offers.
"I took a visit to Boston College and Rutgers to their one-day camps," he said. "They said that they had offered backers but they experienced me on campus and they definitely were going to push those guys and if they don't commit they were going to offer me. I'm going to campuses that I like and producing myself and proving myself."
Walker's trip north impressed him enough that an offer from either Rutgers or BC would put them very high on his list.
"If I get Boston College and Rutgers, they'd be my two leaders," he said. "Them and Kansas State would be in the mix. I'm still showing love to everyone that offers me though. I'm real open about it."
One school that hasn't shown Walker a lot of interest yet, but one that he hopes will, is Alabama. Walker has several reasons for liking the Crimson Tide and he hopes he can get them to gain interest in him as well.
"Another offer that I'm real interested in is Alabama," he said. "I like that they run a 4-4 defensive scheme. I think I can go to Alabama and make an immediate impact. [Alabama's interest] is going to pick up when they see me. I'm definitely going to try to make it to the Alabama Camp on July 22."
Though no other trips are set in stone at this point, Walker still plans on staying busy working out with his team and improving his game.
