Two more offers drives Ford

UTEP head coach Mike Price is calling on his Pac 10 ties and has his Miner coaching staff hitting the Golden State hard. UTEP offered G Pittman from Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., last week and they also offered his teammate wide receiver/defensive back Deon Ford (6-0, 196, 4.5).
Ford added two more offers to go with Washington and San Diego State when Oregon State joined UTEP with offers to Ford.

"I never heard from UTEP until I received an offer from them in the mail," Ford said. "It was shocking, but nice to read that I have a full scholarship offer from UTEP."
"I have been talking to Oregon State a lot, calling them and checking in," Ford said. "I sent them an extra game tape and then they offered."
"I'm on my way to the UCLA camp (Monday June 26)," Ford said. "Then I will be heading to Washington's camp this coming Thursday (June 29)," Ford said. "That is going to be it for me with camps."
"I will be taking an official visit to San Diego State on September 22nd when the Aztecs play Utah," Ford said. "That's it for now regarding official visits."
The Rancho Cucamonga two-way standout was an all-league selection after catching 24 passes for 400 yards while averaging 16.6 yards per catch and five touchdowns.
On the defensive side of the ball Ford racked up 56 tackles, seven breakups, three fumble recoveries, three sacks, two forced fumbles and one interception.
