Two more from Dixie

Dixie College in St. George, Utah has another defensive back that is getting serious recruiting looks from some of the nation’s best football programs. Yesterday Rivals100 introduced you to Dixie’s Jason Lee. Today Rivals will profile another stellar defensive back and one more player.
The defensive back in question is Mike Overly (6-2, 210, 4.5). “Overly is the complete package as a defensive back,” Dixie head coach Greg Croshaw said. “He is a sure tackler and is great in coverage.”

Overly is originally from Boise and transferred to Dixie after Ricks College in Idaho closed their sports program. He was a 1st-team defensive back as a freshman and he is on the way to repeat that feat for his sophomore season.
Overly has four picks so far his sophomore season.
Overly brings a lot to the table for a D-I school. He could play either strong or free safety when he gets to the next level and he has the ability play a Rover type of position.
Overly is hearing from NC State, BYU, Utah, Nebraska, and more.
Overly will graduate this coming spring and has 3x2 years of eligibility.
Another player from Dixie who will probably end up on a D-I roster next season is tight end Waylon Bond (6-6, 250, 4.8).
Bond is another one of those players that changed their position on JUCO level and is now getting serious recruiting looks from universities from coast-to-coast.
Bond actually played quarterback on the high school level out of Oregon, Utah. He was the state of Utah’s 3A Player of the Year his senior season as a field general. Bond came to Dixie as a signal caller. He even played quarterback last season as a freshman for Dixie and was 6-0 as a starter.
A virtual neophyte to the position; Bond only has six games under his belt as a tight end.
The potential Bond has as a tight end is unlimited. So far his sophomore season Bond has caught 15 passes while averaging 18 yards per catch.
Bond is getting serious recruiting interest from Indiana, NC State, Michigan, Oregon State and ASU.
