Two make a strong impression on Ivery

Sulphur Springs, Texas 2014 athlete Willie Ivery is a stout 5-9, 175 pounds and has shown the athleticism to play a number of positions on the field.
He has played running back and receiver on the varsity level. He is a return man on special teams, and if needed he has shown the tools to flip over to the defensive side of the ball and play in the secondary.

Colleges like the versatility.
"I think they're mostly looking at me for receiver, but I'm listed as an athlete," Ivery said. "I think I could play any position - wildcat quarterback, running back, receiver. Anywhere they want to put me I can do it."
The college interest has come in from the likes of Houston, Colorado, Memphis, and Texas Tech, but there are a few schools who have caught his attention lately.
"TCU has kind of bumped up on my list, I like TCU a lot. I also like (Texas) Tech. Those are some top schools who are kind of in my mind right now," Ivery said. "Also I've been receiving mail from Baylor, OSU, LSU, and those are the other three schools I want to go out to. And Boise State. Those are the schools who are on my mind."
Since TCU and Texas Tech are the first schools Ivery mentions, it comes as no surprise that TCU receivers coach Trey Haverty and Texas Tech coaches Neal Brown and Chad Scott are the ones he quickly lists when talking about who is showing the most interest at this point. It also does not hurt that he was in Amon G. Carter Stadium as Texas Tech claimed an overtime win in a back and forth battle with TCU over the weekend.
"I went to the TCU and Tech game last week," Ivery said. "The fans were crazy. The atmosphere in Fort Worth was crazy. There were almost as many Tech fans at the game as TCU fans. I liked both offenses at TCU and Tech. TCU losing didn't really affect what I thought about TCU. I love the campus. The game was close and just crazy. I loved it. It was fun."
He enjoyed his trip so much another trip to Fort Worth is in the works as he looks to schedule a few more unofficial visits.
"I like TCU a lot so I want to visit another TCU game," Ivery said. "I also want to visit an OSU game. I really want to go see that because I really like OSU a lot. I also may hit Baylor."
