Two likely to make Edwards cut

Cincinnati (Ohio) Winton Woods safety Mike Edwards has been hinting that the time is drawing near for him to narrow his list of 15 scholarship offers. This week he updated those plans, and gave a preview of who could make the list.
"I was going to start narrowing it next week or the week after that." Edwards said. "I have a few schools in mind that will make the list. I can probably just say Kentucky and Louisville right now."

Edwards is aiming to get his list down to around six schools. Trips to both Kentucky and Louisville are planned in the next couple weekends.
"I am going to Kentucky this Friday and I should be at Louisville next weekend," Edwards said. " Kentucky I will go down to see a spring practice and sit in the meetings. I don't really know what I am going to do at Louisville yet… I have to talk with Coach [Charlie] Strong about that."
Kentucky closed out their 2013 class with several commitments from the state of Ohio, and added another in linebacker Dorian Hendrix for the 2014 class last week. Edwards expects his trip to Lexington this weekend will be positive, but does not expect to join the Wildcat's commitment list this weekend.
"It will probably boost their momentum, but I don't think I will [commit]," he said. "I really want to go down there just to get the feel for them and meet the coaches again."
Gaining a deeper understanding and familiarity with the program is also Edwards' goal for his following weekend's trip to Louisville.
"I've always liked Louisville and they beat Florida this year," Edwards said. "I really like Coach Strong and the rest of the coaching staff. I can talk to them about a lot of stuff and I like the whole program."
Edwards does expect to make a pre-season decision, but is aiming for a late summer timetable.
