Two Leaders For Four-Star Safety

One of the most sought after players in Pennsylvania has two favorites, but isn’t closing the door on any of the 30 schools that have offered him.
“I have offers from schools all over the region,” said safety Ryan Mundy from Pittsburgh (Pa.) Woodland Hills. “My two favorite schools are Michigan and Pittsburgh. I like Pitt because I’ve met their team and get along really well with everyone there. The same is the case with Michigan, and they both have great facilities.”

As a junior, the 6-foot-2, 205-pound safety played on both sides of the ball. As a receiver he caught 12 passes for 205 yards and four touchdowns. On defense as a safety he made 84 tackles, intercepted seven passes, forced two fumbles and recovered one fumble.
“Pretty much everyone is looking at me as a safety. I’m just more natural on defense, and that’s where my future is,” Mundy said.
With good size and speed, which allows him to run the 40-yard dash in 4.41 seconds, it’s no wonder he has received more than 30 scholarship offers.
“I want to take my official visits to Michigan, Florida, Georgia Tech, Virginia, and maybe NC State. I’ll go to places a long way away. I’m not going to say that Michigan and Pitt are the only schools I’m considering. I haven’t eliminated anyone that has offered me. My decision will come later on in the process.”
