Two lead the way for Marshall

Middletown (Ohio) 2013 athlete Jalin Marshall was among the throng of recruits in attendance for Notre Dame's home visit weekend on Oct. 22. Even though the Irish lost that weekend's contest, the visit propelled them to the top of the standout junior's list.
"I loved it," Marshall said. "I would say Notre Dame and Ohio State are at the top right now."

The 6-0, 190-pound Marshall last made a visit to Ohio State for the Buckeye's home opener against Akron in September. He has not been back due to his own team's schedule, but will make visits after his season is finished.
"I'm looking forward to the visits ahead," Marshall said. "I want to go to Alabama and Oregon and see what that's like. I'm not going to schedule a visit until we lose, and I would like to just keep playing for these next four weeks."
Marshall is not sure when he will make his final college decision, but he knows it will not be before he finishes his junior season.
"I just want to enjoy my junior year and let it ride out," he said. "I'll just make a decision on [timeframe] after the season is over."
Marshall currently holds seven scholarship offers from Cincinnati, Illinois, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Pitt, Tennessee and UCLA.
Middletown moved into the second round of the OHSAA state playoffs on Saturday with a 28-10 win over Centerville. Marshall rushed for one score and threw two other touchdowns in the win.
"When they had to, our defense got a couple great stops," he said. "Then we just kept marching the ball down and I think that solidified the victory for us. We just have to keep our heads up and keep rolling."
