Two lead for 5-star Collins

As has been the case for quite some time, five-star safety Landon Collins of Geismar (La.) Dutchtown continues to list Alabama and LSU as his co-leaders. But despite that, Collins, ranked 17th in the Rival100, claims a few other programs remain very much in the mix.
Namely Florida, Texas and Tennessee.

He hopes to visit each this summer.
"They've shown me how much they want me, so I want to take a visit to see what they have to offer, "Collins said.
This is what Collins said about the five schools most prominent in his recruitment …
Alabama: "I like the coaching staff. And it's a quiet, down-to-earth place. I like to be myself sometimes. It looks like a place you can just be yourself and be cool."
LSU: "I love the coaching staff there. They're cool. They tell me how much they need me on their team. I like Coach [Les] Miles. He's a cool dude to talk to."
Florida: "Florida is one of the fastest teams out there. You've got to be very fast and very talented to play there."
Texas: "Texas stood out to me. It's a school that doesn't come out of state. They have all that talent in state. For them to come out and watch me and offer me a full scholarship, it's a great feeling because it's one of the top schools out there."
Tennessee: "Tennessee was actually the first to offer me. Why not give them a chance and see what they have to offer?"
Already, the 6-foot, 199-pound Collins has been to LSU "maybe five times" and Alabama three times. He said he plans to visit the Tide again June 5 for a camp, then hit Florida "later on in June" and Texas in July. He didn't mention when he might stop by Tennessee.
Additionally, other schools also might get visits.
"I'll probably go see someone in the Pac-10 or Big 12," Collins said. "I may want to see USC or Cal. And maybe Texas A&M. The [visits out west] may be officials. Those are trips."
According to Collins, he will announce his commitment at the 2012 Under Armour All-America Game.
