Tulane University hit the daily double this week with two Houston-area commitments.
Defensive linemen Emmanuel Aluko and Chris Asumnu both from Alief (Texas) Elsik took their official visits to the New Orleans campus and came away committed.
"Yes, but guys committed after their visits and I think they are done," Elsik coach Bill Barron said. "Chris' sister is on full scholarship for track and Tulane and really gave them some insight about the campus. They like the coaches and what Coach (Bob) Toledo is building."
Both athletes played on both sides of the line of scrimmage this season and their versatility impressed Tulane's coaching staff.
"Both guys are so strong and will be solid players in college," Barron said. "I know they have other offers but I don't think they will be taking them."
Aluko and Asumnu were also offered by Fresno State, UTEP and North Texas
