For the Bellevue (Wash.) Newport offensive tackle, taking a visit to Washington last weekend was important because he wanted to meet the new coaching staff and get a feel for them.
The 6-foot-6, 262-pound three-star prospect spent hours with the coaches and came away thoroughly impressed.
"They're just a great, tight-knit group of guys that all believe in the same thing," Throckmorton said. "They all have the same goals for their players and what they envision their program to be, what they want their program to be.
"I was really impressed by them as a whole."
Washington remains one of the favorites for Throckmorton. Oregon is right there as well especially after the Ducks recently offered.
Those two programs stand out most to the three-star offensive tackle, but Throckmorton said it's still far too early in his recruitment to make any decisions. With more visits on the horizon, he doesn't want to rush anything.
"As of right now, Oregon and UW are probably the two right now," Throckmorton said. "Just for me it's way too early."
The Bellevue Newport recruit has some more unofficial visits coming up.
The three-star is headed to Arizona State the first weekend of March and then goes to Washington State on March 8. Both Pac-12 programs are showing early interest.
