Two Favorites For New York LB

Thiels (N.Y.) North Rockland linebacker Kelvin Smith might not be going too far away to play football.
“It’s not right up the road, but Syracuse is close enough,” said the 6-foot-2, 215-pounder. “They’re looking better and better. They’re also recruiting me the hardest.”

Smith has an offer from Syracuse as well as Maryland. It seems to be a two-team race.
“Others are recruiting me as well, but not as hard,” he said. “I’m hearing from Boston College, Pitt and Georgia Tech as well, but none of them have offered yet.”
Smith will set up official visits after his season if over. He is considered one of the top linebackers in the Northeast this year.
