Riviera Beach (FL) Suncoast defensive back Devin Hester is one of only three five-star cornerbacks in the country. However, with such accolades comes a lot of attention – sometimes too much to keep track of.
“I haven’t narrowed things down yet,” said the 5-foot-11, 180-pounder with 4.33-second speed in the 40-yard dash. “I have two favorites right now, but there are so many other teams I might be interested in.”
Hester knows he’ll visit both Virginia and Florida State and will begin setting up visits near the end of his senior season. And the other teams he might consider?
“I can’t name them all right now, but NC State, Michigan State, Miami, Notre Dame, Ohio State and some others stand out,” he said. “I’m also getting a lot of mail from SEC teams like Georgia and South Carolina so I’ll look at them.”
And Hester is also getting some attention from the Northeast as well.
“Syracuse, Rutgers, Penn State, Pitt and Boston College are all teams I’ll consider visiting as well,” he said. “I have more than 50 offers so I need narrow things down shortly after September so I don’t get killed with calls.”
Hester can also play wide receiver and running back and doesn’t have a preference on what position he plays in college.
“I just to win,” he said. “That’s important to me.”
