Two favorites emerge for Scrempos

Two teams are standing out the most early on for Jason Scrempos but after camping at USC and UCLA in recent days it's clear his recruitment is still wide open.
"I would say Cal and Washington stand out the most and a little bit of Washington State," Scrempos said. "Those are the main schools I'm talking with mostly."

The 6-foot-6, 245-pound three-star defensive end from Milpitas, Calif., had a strong performance Sunday at the UCLA camp. He said that both Cal and Washington have encouraged him to take his time with the recruiting process and neither school is rushing him to make a decision.
"They're just saying to take my time," Scrempos said.
"They know about the recruiting process and they know offers are coming and stuff. I want to take all my visits, take a really close look and then I'll be where I'm supposed to be. Washington is also very understanding of me taking my time."
So far, Scrempos has been offered by Arizona, Cal, Colorado State, Fresno State, Nevada, New Mexico, San Jose State, Washington and Washington State.
The Golden Bears and Huskies stand out the most right now but Scrempos said he's still waiting to see if more offers come in through the summer. He's in no rush to make a commitment at this point especially with so much that could still happen.
"I can't say right now about one favorite," Scrempos said. "I'm still waiting to see what offers are coming. Those are the top two right now."
Both the USC and UCLA camps interested Scrempos but the three-star said he's still not sure if either Pac-12 power will offer at this point. That could be one reason why the Milpitas recruit is not rushing a commitment.
"It was interesting at SC," Scrempos said. "It's a little different style of football at SC. I really liked it at UCLA, too. It was fun."
