Two at the top for Sam

Allen (Texas) three-star linebacker Christian Sam has seen the interest come from near and far and is currently in the process of trying to narrow his list in hopes of making a college choice in the near future.
As a result he has taken trips with his most recent a stop in Lubbock, Texas to get a look at Texas Tech.

"It was real nice," Sam said. "Every time I go up there the facilities are great, I love the coaches, it was a great place to be. I know they're going to do good things there for sure. It was real good, real nice."
He also has a few more visits in the works.
"I want to go out to OU, maybe Ole Miss," Sam said. "I'm not sure about that one right now. Right now with Arizona State kind of jumping back in the mix I may take a visit this summer and if not they were talking about me taking an official so we'll see what happens."
After much thought and research a few schools have made their way to the top of his list.
"(Texas) Tech and Baylor for sure, and like I said Arizona State started coming on," Sam said. "I'm trying to make the right decision. I don't want to make the wrong choice and I want to wait and commit when I'm ready. I don't feel like I'm ready to make that decision as of now. Hopefully things will change later on so we'll see."
Oklahoma and Ole Miss round out a top five, but at this point Texas Tech and Baylor are his top two and have made quite the impression.
"Tech it's the coaches," Sam said. "They actually genuinely care about me. Its not all football, but they're good people. Another big reason why is coach Smith, he actually played in the NFL and he coaches there and that would be my coach. He knows what it takes to get there and has playbooks and plays and schemes to get me prepared for the NFL. He's coached some good linebackers and he also played with Ray Lewis so he knows a couple of things. It's a great place to be.
"Baylor it's a program on the rise for sure. Coach Briles, coach Gush, and coach Bennett are all good people. It's close to home and I really like it there."
He does not plan to rush a decision and does not have a date set, but would like to make a decision before his senior season.
