Tweedy is still sitting on one offer

Back in April, athlete Alonzo Tweedy out of Richmond (Va.) Hermitage landed his first scholarship offer from Virginia Tech. The May evaluation period is going by fast and has any other team jumped onto the 6-foot-1, 173-pounder's bandwagon?
"He still just has the offer from Virginia Tech," Hermitage head coach Patrick Kane said. "Right now I'd say Virginia Tech is probably his favorite since they are the only team that has offered.

"There are a lot of other schools showing interest. Virginia sent Al Groh down to talk with me about him recently and Maryland is probably the other school showing the most interest at this time. Besides that a broad range of schools like Wake Forest, Syracuse, North Carolina State, Louisville and others continue to send stuff and stop by saying the niceties."
Currently Tweedy has no camps or unofficial visits planned for this summer according to Kane.
"It is really going to depend on what kind of interest all these schools show," he said. "It's hard to say who has a very serious interest and will offer, but if they do I know he plans to check them out for a day camp."
In general, what makes the Commonwealth athlete stand out on the field?
"Alonzo is a real competitive player that goes after the ball," he said. "Offense or defense he makes things happen and coaches take notice. I personally think he is more of a defensive person at the next level that could be a very good safety or outside linebacker."
