Tweedy an offensive weapon

The Woodlands Highlander receiver Alex Tweedy earned first-team, all-district honors and an invitation to the US Army junior combine after a successful junior season.
Tweedy caught 47 balls for 776 yards and six touchdowns last year, showing crisp route running and sure hands. He will enter his senior season as one of Greater Houston's most prolific returning offensive weapons.

"I really want to break the school record for reception yards next year," Tweedy said. "It's like 1,045 yards. We are already heavily into our off season workouts and I'm just focused on getting stronger and faster. This spring I'm going to be working on techniques to help me get off the press coverage."
Tweedy got to see how he matched up with some of the nation's best when he participated in the US Army junior combine in San Antonio, Texas, over the break.
"You go in confident and then you see how many good kids there are across the country," he said. "It brings you back to earth but makes you want to work even harder."
The 6-foot-1 receiver has been verbally offered by Colorado State, and has taken an unofficial visit to Oklahoma State.
"I really loved Oklahoma State," he said. "The facilities and the campus were unbelievable. I think I'm also going to try and work in camps as Arkansas, Texas Tech and Boise State this summer."
Tweedy will also be honing his speed this spring, running in all of the sprint relays for the Highlander track team.
