Turpin looking at numerous schools

Damion Turpin has a bunch of offers but the recruiting process is still in the early stages because the Compton (Calif.) Dominguez defensive end hasn't taken many visits yet.
He's been to UCLA and will get to USC this weekend for the Los Angeles NIKE Camp but other than that the 6-foot-3, 225-pound prospect hasn't done much exploring. A trip to Washington next month could be a start and then Turpin plans to see other places along the way, too.

"Pretty much, the rundown for me is I'm waiting until I see more things," Turpin said. "I haven't really been anywhere yet and so I'm just waiting until I can take some visits.
"I already went to UCLA a few times and I'm going to USC for the NIKE Camp. I'm probably going to Washington sometime in April with Brandon Beaver so I'm starting to get out a little bit. It will all depend on what I see and then go from there."
Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Duke, Hawaii, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Oregon State, SMU, UCLA, Washington and Washington State have already offered Turpin, who plays on a loaded Dominguez team that features a bunch of Division I prospects including Beaver and offensive lineman Lacy Westbrook.
Location still seems up in the air for Turpin, who said he wouldn't necessarily be against staying in Los Angeles and playing for UCLA or USC but that he's currently leaning toward getting out and experiencing new things.
"I'd like to get out and explore something new but if it's not to my liking I wouldn't mind staying closer and not going away to school," Turpin said. "Pretty much, though, I'm trying to go someplace new."
Along with all those offers, Turpin said he is hearing from USC and has just started talking to Cal as well.
