Turner names favorites

Cornerback Marcus Turner out of Voorhees (N.J.) Eastern took in a few camps this summer to Rutgers, Virginia, North Carolina State and Delaware. Did any of the visits stand out to the 6-foot-0, 164-pounder?
"I really liked Delaware and North Carolina State," he said. "I liked the techniques the coaches taught us at both camps. I also liked how they treated the campers. I got to tour North Carolina State and I really liked the weight room and locker room, they were really impressive."

The three-star prospect is still without an offer.
"Delaware mentioned one a little bit, but that's about it," he said. "Most of the colleges want to see my first couple games because I didn't start playing corner until the last four games of last season. They all need to see me more."
The No. 21 player in New Jersey is currently favoring Iowa, North Carolina State, Syracuse, Louisville, Minnesota and Virginia Tech.
"I like the prestige of Iowa's program," he said. "I like the receiver's coach and defense at North Carolina State, my visit and the fact they're in the ACC. I like that Louisville passes a lot and Syracuse's recruiting coach. Finally, I like the recruiting coaches at Virginia Tech and Minnesota. I particularly like the coach from Minnesota because he made me feel welcome."
The cornerback prospect has started to think about official visits.
"I've got to talk to my coaches more about it," he said. "Right now, I want to go to Iowa, Louisville, Syracuse, Minnesota and probably North Carolina State again. I just want to see the surroundings, facilities and coaches."
Turner plans to take all five of his official visits during and after the season. He'll most likely decide sometime near Signing Day.
Despite naming his favorites, Turner has a few other schools still on the outside looking in.
"I'm also still considering Pittsburgh, Virginia, Wisconsin and Boston College," he said. "I like the prestige at those schools particularly with Wisconsin in the Big Ten and Virginia and Boston College in the ACC. That's important because they're playing a lot of good teams. I like Pittsburgh because I went to camp there and I like their new coaches."
Turner is currently focusing his attention on the upcoming season.
"I'm looking forward to getting the ball more this year," he said. "Last year my teammate Jahre Cheeseman (VT commit) was the go to guy, so I'm looking forward to being that guy this year. I'm just looking to get all-state and work on my body development and speed more."
How is the team coming together so far?
"We're looking good this year, we're trying for a state championship and I think we have a better chance this year than last," he said. "We've got more players that can make plays."
Turner hauled in 30 receptions for 400 yards and three touchdowns as a junior. He added 20 tackles and four interceptions on defense as he went on to be named second team all-conference.
