Turner looking to earn MSU offer

Defensive end Andre Turner of Harper Woods (Mich.) Chandler Park committed to Western Michigan in the summer, but is still open to receiving offers. One school he would love to earn an offer from is Michigan State, and he would possibly commit on the spot if offered.
"I really like Michigan State" Tuner said. "I am looking to study Mechanical Engineering and I want a school that is strong in my field of study and Michigan State fits that. When it comes to the coaches, I really like the way Michigan State coaches stress academics first. I also like the fact that Michigan State is close to home. So yes I would love to earn offer from MSU."

Turner has earned offers from Bowling Green, Eastern Michigan, Western Michigan and Toledo and is gaining consistent interest from Michigan State, Wisconsin, Western Michigan, Cincinnati and North Carolina State.
Turner is averaging three sacks a game and says one player he is constantly trying to learn from is Michigan State defensive end William Gholston.
"Gholston is definitely someone I look up to and try to model my game after." Tuner said. "I really like the way he lines up and comes off the line and I try my best to learn from him."
Turner has visited Michigan State three times; recently he visited East Lansing for the Spartans home contest against Notre Dame.
While Turner really likes Michigan State he did mention another school he would like to receive an offer from.
"Illinois is another school I could see myself committing to if I received an offer." Turner said. "I like them for many of the same reasons I like MSU: they have a good engineering program and I like the coaches and the system there."
Turner plans to attend a Western Michigan game soon and expects to make another Michigan State game as well.
