Turner is heading back east

West Hills (Calif.) Chaminade quarterback Chris Turner looked like a lock for Louisville just a few days ago but a few surprise turn of events and a great trip to Maryland caused a change in those plans.
Turner, 6-4, 200 pounds told us just last week that he was getting close to committing to Louisville but wanted to take one last trip before deciding. That last trip proved to be bigger than Turner thought.

"I loved Maryland," Turner said. "I committed to them last night when they came in for a home visit. It's weird, but I think the way things went down with Louisville will be a blessing in disguise. That was my first choice but I started getting a weird vibe from them and when I talked to them a few days ago about committing, they kind of put it off and said they weren't ready to take it.
"Then I saw they got a commitment from another quarterback and it made sense to me. Like I said, I'm not bitter at all because I loved Maryland that much. It's a great fit for me and I love the coaches and players there. I'm going to be a Political Science major too so how can you beat being 10 minutes away from Washington D.C.
"Depth wise, they have six quarterbacks on scholarship but three of them play other positions now and two are juniors. Wherever I go, there is going to be good players there so I'm happy with the situation. I'm excited about my decision and happy to get it out of the way. I'll be go out there early, a few weeks before fall camp starts to get acclimated to everything."
